An End and a New Beginning!
posted on Fri, 01/22/2010 - 22:02At long last, I am able to say with confidence: go check out www.izocleanze.com I say ‘with confidence’, because this is the first time in over 2 years that the website has looked like what I envisioned it being in my mind. It has been one of the most trying and frustrating journeys bringing this thing to fruition.
I went through 7 or 8 website developers, each of which shat on the previous web developer’s work and said that it was either total garbage and or at the very least relatively dysfunctional for the purposes of search engine optimization and ultimately driving sales. And of course, I know ‘nothing’ technical so it was very difficult to know whether I was being sold a bunch of crap. But I will say this: that I learned from each web developer and never repeated the same mistakes and somehow someway, www.izocleanze.com was always ever evolving and improving, albeit at what seemed to me an everyone that worked on it, to be a snail’s pace.
There are four website developers who have never done me wrong, in that they did what they said they were gonna do when they said they were gonna do it, never flaking, and always reliable in the clutch even at bargain rates because they felt my pain and frustration and truly cared about iZO succeeding. The first is Dr. Ratbite LaRue, my first web developer. Yes, I said there’s a guy that developed the iZO Cleanze website named Dr. Ratbite LaRue! www.ratbite.org Dr. LaRue is one of the most brilliant pure-bred freaks that I have ever encountered. And with little fanfare and little money, he designed and implemented the first iZO Cleanze website in late 2006. It was quite rudimentary, but Dr. LaRue never represented that it would be more than the most basic website imaginable. And it was basic. But it was 100% functionl! And that was the key. In a way, I haven’t had a fully functional site since then- there were always glitches and problems that were borne out of the rapidly increasing complexity of the product we offer…till today.
The real hero of this story is Cory Park. Cory was a friend who I hadn’t seen in a while until we ran into each other at a birthday party last May. I expressed my frustration with our website and he assured me he could help me. I was wary of getting to another working relationship with a friend because it has almost always gone sour because there’s all sorts of unrealistic expectations built in by the friend that don’t coincide with the business agenda. And then it gets hairy when the person doesn’t do what they said they were gonna do when they said they were gonna do it. And then they get pissed at you because they were giving you a good rate and you’re being ungrateful and pushy. And you’re like please, I don’t want the ‘friend rate’, I want the damn job done! And it goes on and on.
But Cory understood my trauma and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. He offered to help me out at first for free, just to demonstrate to me that he wasn’t full of shit. Wow. Hey, I couldn’t deny free help. So I let him start coming up with stuff, and come up with stuff he did. I found him easy to work with, absolutely no drama. And so his TANGIBLE ACTION didn’t take long to convince me that I needed to pay this guy! And that’s how Cory got the job- he earned it by earning my respect. And he never once let me down, despite glitches and missed deadlines beyond his control- there’s a certain amount of flexibility one must have in managing design projects like this, there’s a certain amount of respect one must have for the unforeseen. Expect shit to happen. That’s why it is crucial to the success of any project like this that the person at the helm has patience, determination, and stamina. Cory Park is all that and more. Thank you so much, Cory! http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1525460270&ref=mf
Supporting our design process with crucial design input, search engine optimization strategy, and copy-writing and editing magic was the good Ben Goodwin. Ben has always been there for me in the clutch, driven by his love and passion for what iZO is all about. And many a time, Ben was there for me to vent to when the project would seem to be stagnating. Thank you Ben for your consistent support. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=532125902&ref=ts
And finally, Cory worked closely with an expert programmer named Toy Lei who implemented our design strategy in Drupal with a state of the art shopping cart that is so complex, I can’t begin to tell you the details. Toy was so patient and understanding of the delays that we were experiencing and went way beyond the call of duty in her dedication to creating a high quality product that is complete and functional. Thank you, Toy! www.playwithtoy.com
With this new website, I feel like a major obstacle to my vision has been lifted. Now we really have a vehicle in which we can spread the word of healing transformation and taking personal, tangible control of raising your vibration. Click around. You’ll see that you can finally understand what our products are all about. And finally our social media platform is integrated and functional- you will be seeing a huge increase in blog activity now that I’m driving this puppy. We will be loading the site with more and more high quality information regarding cleansing as well as resources to enhance your cleanse and transformation experience.
