Forget Regret!
posted on Mon, 02/22/2010 - 20:00A good friend just hit me with this most excellent question about life and how to live it, and i figured why not share it with you cuz it applies to all of us. "How have you reconciled regret?"
Look at it in terms of the human curriculum. Life is school, and everyone is born into this Life with their personal curriculum determined by their past life karma. Everything that ever happens to you is your curriculum, and the effect/impressions you have on others is part of their curriculum. Everything happens for a reason, and it's up to us to figure out what are the lessons to be learned from our experiences.
Regret is an act of denying that reality is what it should be. Of course reality is what it should be. It just IS. You need to ponder the lesson for you in all of this. What is the good that can come out of? How has your understanding improved from having experienced what you did? If the answer is simply that you just won't do that again, then you're learning and that's a good thing. But perhaps it's deeper than that. Perhaps that situation high-lighted a deeper recurring issue for you that needs to be addressed. Dig for the answer and don't stop till you find it.
You can be rest assured that Life will continue to hand you your personal curriculum on a silver platter in a variety of seemingly different forms (it might look different, but at the core it's the same), until of course you've aced your tests (dissolved ALL karma) and graduated into Divine consciousness. !fooP
