Making Peace
posted on Sun, 01/03/2010 - 22:06There's just no need to permanently terminate people in our lives, unless there's real serious reason of threat, and even then, forgiveness must come some day, lest you remain angry forever. If you find a situation going ‘south’ with someone, communicate your concerns at the earliest possible moment and try to rectify the issues as directly and quickly as possible.
If it is determined that the situation will not work, then just end that portion of the relationship and try to learn a lesson and impart some wisdom to the other person from your gained understanding of the situation. Don’t let yourself get to the point of no return. Act on your behalf early, instead of when it’s too late to forgive. There is no need to assassinate them to the land of the dead forever. Soften up your heart and let your habitual judgments trigger a compassionate desire to help the people overcome their 'weaknesses' (often their biggest 'strengths') and become more self-aware.
