My First Quarter Grades
posted on Sat, 02/27/2010 - 06:59Ah, to be on Day 10 of a cleanse! I am triumphant feeling, racing with light energy and renewed strength in every cell. There’s a true sense of accomplishment, especially when I reflect on the radical bowel movements of days past. ☺
So I’m exactly ¼ of the way through this cleanse and it has been simply amazing. I am so proud to say that I’ve been hitting my ambitious commitment to integrate my personal body/mind/soul rituals. Not necessarily 100% of it, but I’d give myself an A-, and it’s just the beginning. I’ve done the physical part, every day: Yoga on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday, running 2-3 miles Tues, Thurs and Friday. And I’ve done my Qabalah circle work every morning, not necessarily at dawn, but as close as I’ve been able to get to it, business and healing crises permitting (more on that in a moment). The only thing I haven’t gotten into yet is meditation, but it’s coming. This has been an amazing start to this new era of Self-Realization!
Some highlights of the week:
1) oh man, the morning of Day 8 (Wed), wow- I woke up like a ton of bricks, totally detoxing hard. I was ridiculously sluggish all morning till around 1pm. What does one do to solve that problem? Gobble down extra laxative, of course! Sure enough, once Hiroshima hit the porcelain throne (you might’ve felt a rumble in the Hollywood Hills if you were there), I felt like a million bucks. What’s all that about? Basically when you cleanse, you’re kicking up toxins that have been lying dormant, killing you slowly. Well, when they’re on the way out, if they don’t pass out of your large intestines quickly enough, then they get re-absorbed through the intestinal walls into the bloodstream and that’s what causes the detox headaches and sluggishness. I don’t tend to get headaches because I generally don’t drink coffee. But the so-called ‘healing crisis’ definitely manifests as sluggishness for me. I couldn’t believe how heavy this one was. I look with pride on that release! ☺
2) I created a new circle up on the hill in which I do my Qabalah rituals- it’s SOOOO much better than my old one. Totally secluded in trees, hidden away from the tourists only 50 ft away taking pictures of the Hollywood sign behind it. They used to really get under my skin cuz I’d have to stop in the middle of my flow. I mean how the hell can you really be chanting ‘Malchut, Oog Voo Rah, Oog Doo Lah, etc’ in front of people taking pictures without a proper explanation? Oy (Jewish pun intended, although i practice the Hermetic Qabalah).
3) Running in these hills overlooking all of LA is one of the most invigorating activities I can think of doing. I get inspired every time to think that this is literally my backyard. Sooooo epic. The first day I coughed up a ton of phlegm, and the second day I ran so hard I was dry-heaving, but by today the run was pretty smooth.
A Look into the Future:
1) Yoga tmrw, Saturday afternoon with Kyra Haglund at Exhale in Venice. Kyra rocks!!!! Join me at 12:30! www.kyrahaglund.com
2) Meditation will kickoff on Sunday fo sho.
3) The Astrology this weekend is sweet, at least for Taurus, but I think it’s lookin pretty damn good across the zodiac board. For Taurus, it’s apparently the best 2 days of the year. Check yours at www.astrologyzone.com
