Strange Drains
posted on Thu, 02/12/2009 - 17:42I'm on Day 42 of the iZO Cleanze and have never felt better. but i thought it would be interesting to report some of the gorier, not-so-pleasant detox action. On Day 40, i got one of those really painful zits that seem to never come to a head on a my nose. You know the kind where the tip of your nose gets all red and it starts to rise a little but it's as if the zit is too massive to surface, lest your entire nose blow up.
this has happened to me before on a cleanze, and it's even happened before my detox days. I tend to detox through my skin. i had moderate acne as a teen and into my early '20s. So i'm not a stranger to zits. But...this one took a surprising turn. This zit came to a head inside my nose! Oy, the pain!
Then right before i was going to bed on Day 40, a sty began to form underneath my left eye, filled with mysterious fluid. I've gotten a sty in my eye maybe 5 times in my life, and it's usually a result of being over-tired and burning the candle at both ends. this was clearly a result of detox. Who knows what was in the fluid. I soaked it with a warm soak when i woke up the next morning, and it went away for the most part. but then when i woke up this morning, both of my eyes were puffed with fluid underneath them. this time they both went away on their own, before i even soaked them. And it looks like they're completely gone.
The good thing about cleansing is that these things clear up really quickly. But most certainly, as i've said before, detox happens in phases, and clearly i had a phase of detoxing from my nose and eye area this week. It goes to show you that even this far into a cleanze there is still stuff embedded deep within us.
Confucious say: A zit today is better than a tumor tomorrow. Better out than in!
