When in Lent...

posted on Fri, 02/19/2010 - 12:48

Greetings! I’m on Day 3 of a 40-day iZO Cleanze. I know, I know- if you’ve been following this blog at all, you must be saying to yourself, “What the hell happened to the 21-day cleanse you were doing last month?!?!” Good question! And I’ve got good answers!

Let’s back up to January 15, Day 5 of my 2010 New Year Cleanse. The day was particularly auspicious as a New Moon Solar Eclipse. My Taurus horoscope said that the day was going to mark an “exceptional new beginning.” And that it was indeed. http://www.izocleanze.com/blog/new-moon-solar-eclipse I received life-changing information and insight that day, which I am still processing and will be for a long time in private before I get into it in this public forum. Not to worry- you can always rely on this blog to deliver a depth of self-deprecating honesty that is virtually unparalleled in the blogosphere. And I am committed to being as NOW as possible. But sometimes, I need a little time to process major paradigm-shifting singularity events on my own, especially when they could easily be inaccurately perceived and judged harshly if taken out of context. Don’t worry, you’ll hear about this someday. It’s Bestseller material. Oh, how I’ve grown in the last month.

So it was Day 5, and suddenly life changes just like that, and I’m like, “you know what, this cleanse is perfectly on time because I’m dumping toxins by the hour and getting all clear, and I’m so glad that I’m receiving this information in such a concentrated state of transformation- Fuck it! I’m going 40 days!” And so that was the plan. I was psyched. I didn’t get a chance to announce it on the blog because I was still processing, when later that week, another opportunity came knocking out of the blue. I can’t go too much into the details of this opportunity either, but let’s just say it pertains to launching an exciting new iZO Cleanze product line. I had a small window of time to act on the situation so I basically stopped what I was doing on Day 15 and started experimenting like a guinea pig on new products. It was a blast! But nonetheless that cleanse was done. The New Year zeitgeist was over.

Being the goal-oriented person that I am, I felt unfulfilled with just going 14 days, and have been yearning all month to finish out my 40. But life kept intervening with ‘this’ opportunity and ‘that’ crisis, and the cleanse kept getting pushed off into the future. I don’t know about you, but I personally have to have my mental ducks in a row before I embark on a cleanse because I want to do it right, no cheating, all the way, with exercise and ideally Spiritual practice in tandem, (the Spiritual practice being something I have yet to totally achieve). And then last week, it dawned on me that Mardi Gras was coming up. And where there’s fire, there’s repentance. Ah, Lent, the Catholic time to intentionally burn karma. Having been raised Catholic, I am quite familiar with the ritual. I’ve pulled some major renunciations in my time. I remember the biggest one when I was a kid giving up TV for the entire period. That doesn’t seem like anything now, but Damn! it was BIG back then.

So here I am, 3 days into a 40-day Lent Fast. Well, not really a Fast, although, I’m going to do a technical Fast the last week of this 40-day Juice Feast (more on the distinction between a Juice Fast and a Juice Feast later). Tomorrow I will write about my personal goals for this particular cleanse. This one is going to break exciting new ground! You know what happens at the end of Lent, right? It’s time to get Spiritual on ya’ll!
